Mine Surveying Laboratory

The surveying laboratory has levels, theodolites, plane tables and a total station so that field measurements can be conducted by the undergraduate students. Mine Surveying Laboratory is used for storing surveying equipment when they are not in use at field. The laboratory contains the following principal equipment: - Four theodolites and accessories.
- Three levels and accessories.
- Six plane tables, alidates and accessories.
- Four planimeters.
- Total station with memory card and data transfer system.
These equipments are used for the following field works: - Horizontal distance measurements.
- Determination of elevations by fly leveling.
- Cross-sectioning to determine cuts and fills.
- To measure horizontal angles by repetition using a theodolite.
- Determination of coordinates by closed traversing.
- Determination of coordinates by open traversing.
- Correlation by on wire in each of two shafts.
- Establishment of topographic contours by plane-table surveying.
